The Real on Highlight Reels

2 Corinthians 11:14. And no wonder, for even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light.

If self love was the answer to everything, God wouldn't have described it as one of the signs of the times...
So how does this tie into highlight reels?
Simple...
Social media is the most convenient way to deceive people from anywhere with almost complete anonymity.
In the virtual world of fast connections, and carefully curated personas, it’s easy to forget that real relationships take time....this includes friendships.
Anyone can locate someone online, send a request, analyze and exploit your vulnerabilities (based on how much you openly share) to engage you in conversations and, eventually, form emotional connections.
But character reveals itself over seasons—not selfies or carefully scripted narratives.
Truth doesn’t rush.
It doesn’t perform.
It has no agenda.
So slow down.
Take a step back.
Gather facts.
Do their words truly match their actions offline?
Get to know people.
Not just by what they say or post—
but...by patterns over a long period of time.
And remember, if something feels off, you don’t need to explain yourself.
You’re allowed to say no just because your spirit says pause.
What’s truly meant for you won’t demand urgency or pressure.
Even in friendships.
It will come with peace, alignment, and room to breathe.
Trust the long game.
And remember—you’re not missing out when you’re protecting your peace.
My favorite individuals are those who share the harsh truths about their past, regardless of how it reflects on them, because they prioritize honesty over their reputation. They aren't looking to exert control; instead, they use their experiences to guide others through their own challenges.
That's real. That's what matters more than validation and instant gratification.
Time is precious, and we don't get it back.
Make sure you know what you're getting into.
Stay safe.
